Having been let down by several website design companies before, English Salvage required a comprehensive website design & build which met the complex requirements of their business and the 5,000 regularly changing items they stock. Absolutely essential to this was a site that was easy for visitors to search, and easy for them to keep updated and add new items to.
English Salvage had some previous bad experience with website designers so we were determined to turn this around for them. Hopefully the fact that ph9 have been in business since 2004 helped reassure English Salvage that we weren’t going to let them down like the website design companies they’d previously hired had. Reliability and being there for a client is definitely something we pride ourselves on.
After an initial meeting with the client and putting together a proposal and quotation, we were selected from a shortlist of 3 website design companies to do the work; and we were delighted because as you can see from the items English Salvage sell, they have some really exciting and unique items!
We designed the website with close co-operation of Mike at English Salvage who’d been tasked to work with us. Upon sign off of completed designs we built the website using our in-house custom built content management system, and bespoke made their more complex requirements such as the door search and item search.
Last but not least before the website went live, we imported all the stock from their old website. This was no easy task! Without having a database on their old site we had to create scripts to lift each and every single one of their approx 5,000 items from their old site, filter and sort the data, then import into their new site. It was a lot of work, but hugely worth it and we’re delighted with the results!
English Salvage are very forward thinking with their website and we continue to work with them to continuously evolve and improve their website.
