We are all in the same boat at the moment; we've all got lots of time and we're all working from our computers so you're faced with working on your website to keep the money flowing... But what now?

Here's 5 ways you can start ramping up that traffic to your website!

1) Set up a Google business listing

Setting up a Google Business listing is one of the first steps to helping get your website recognised and we have previously talked about Google my business and why you should use it.

A Google Business listing is essential for local SEO. When someone searches for something in google, it will take that search term and look for any businesses that are local, to present in the search results. Not only does a Google business listing help with local SEO, it helps with the general SEO of your website. It also creates more trust with your customers, when you have a fully populated up to date Google Business listing - where they can find opening times, contact details and the all important Google Reviews!

2) Utilise your social media accounts

We're forever advocates of using social media to promote your website! We've had so many clients that have had huge successes with social media, mostly Instagram (as have we!) it's a gold mine and doesn't take much effort at all. Better still - It's free! But you do have the option to pay to promote your social media posts too and pricing of that ranges from £1 per day to however much your budget will allow. Using social media also helps put a face and a personality to your business which (especially at this moment in time) people are gravitating towards more than ever.

Pinterest, Facebook and YouTube are also big players in generating more traffic to your website. Even TikTok is coming up in the ranks now, so you have plenty of options, what are you waiting for?

3) Start your blog!

I know, I know. Starting your blog has been on your to-do list forever, well now you've got some extra hours in the week you can do it! A blog is a fantastic way to get traffic to your website and again it's one of those things that our clients have had great success with.

One of our clients creates blog posts about their items, emails it out and within a few hours has sold a good few items from that blog post! It's worth sitting down for a little while and getting you creative juices flowing. As with posting on social media it can positively contribute to the voice or personality that you want your brand to have.

It also contributes toward your SEO, help you build industry authority and attract an audience. Win, win right??

Our websites come with a blog so if you're already a client of ours get in touch and we can help you set it up!

4) Email Mailshots

Well, what do you know? Our websites have a free email marketing integration that comes as standard, so you can get started straight away! :)

Email mailshots are another fantastic way to get people back to your website. What could be better than popping up directly in your audiences inboxes saying 'Hey, Look at all this fabulous new stock I've got - be the first to see it!'?

Email marketing gives you the opportunity to get directly in front of your audiences faces with personalised content and keeping you at the forefront of their mind. Even if you only have a small mailing list it's still worth sending out your mailshots to potential buyers, because some is better than none after all.

5) Google Ads

Google Ads & shopping is Google's method of paid advertising and a great way to promote your website and get fantastic returns on your investment. When you use Google Ads or shopping that is the only time you'll ever 'get to the top of Google' as the listings always appear at the top before any organic listing.

The main advantages of using Google Ads & Shopping is:

Fast results!

  • You can appear a lot quicker than you would organically

Flexible

  • It's really easy to adjust your ad budget, which key word you appear for and edit your ads

Priority over organic (free) listings

Conclusion

There's a few different ways you can get started with getting your website out there!
